Keep in your refrigerator, (not below about 5C) they should last for 7 to 10 days no problem. We recommend eating before 7 days  because we will have another fresh harvest every week!

If you feel they are losing their freshness, put them in the freezer and save for smoothies.

I don't recommend freezing the spicier more flavorful ones such as radish, wasabi, and rocket arugula. I did that once!

Seeds are alive, and they can have bacteria living on them. Even during the 5-14 days the microgreens have been growing, bacteria, yeast, and fungi can be in the air, mingling with them.  We have an ozone/electric air purifier to minimize air borne particles.

We have chosen not to attain organic certification. Because we are an indoor growing facility, we are able to control the growing environment. MicroBliss greens never comes in contact with pesticides or pest, whereas many organic farms spray and apply organic pesticides to the produce. Our greens are truly pesticide-residue-free!

Our greens are grown in  a specialty blended soil without the addition of additives or fertilizers, whereas non-organic microgreens are exposed to fertilizers and other additives.

It's a fact that the farther food has to travel, and the longer it takes from farm to plate, the nutritional value drops. You don't want greens that come from the other side of the planet, they're not good you, your family, or the environment and many are becoming conscious of this and supporting local.

MicroBliss considers our microgreens hyper-local. We aim to not have our produce travel 100Km from our growing facilty.

Recycle, sustainable, we reuse compost for gardens.

About Us

family producing microgreens and a love of fresh local produce.

Garden memories as a child

I was drawn to grow and nurture since my childhood. I recall being in the garden with my father often. Growing up in PEI of course was all about the new potatoes, and other food like mussels and lobster. I also remember Morning Glory flowers and grow them at home. I collect the seeds and offer them to our customers. Ask me for some anytime. They are beautiful to look at and we help by adding flowers for pollinators.

In my university days I planted trees in Manitoba, British Columbia and Ontario. Eventually I had my own company leading a team of tree planters with government reforestation projects on Prince Edward Island. I'd also hire myself out as a gardener and lawn maintenance and landscaping.

Eat healthy and local

Food Philosophy

I was tired of the quality of foods available in stores and not knowing where it came from, how long ago it was picked, what pesticides were sprayed, was it radiated at the border? Store managers were also unable to answer these questions. So I chose to grow much of my own over the years in my garden each summer . Now indoors all year and plan to expand into hydroponic lettuces, and other ventures to expand on providing fresh local food all year.

What we choose to eat plays a role in our lives for better health. We can alter the way we feel, and drastically improve our health, by including living raw greens as a main part of our daily nutrition.

We also believe well farmed food is its own work of art. Microgreens with their color enhances the way our food tastes and looks, bringing conversation to the table. Knowing its local adds sense of satisfaction. You know where it came from, how its grown, that its fresh and helps our local businesses.

Always in the garden for fresh local produce

I have great memories in our home garden with my father and grand-father. Fresh and local is the best. You could never get in trouble for eating fresh veggies from the garden. They are the best.

In season we always have cherry tomatoes to compliment your microgreens, and salads. Plus I have a fascination with growing the hottest peppers like California Reapers, Chocolate Scorpion, Habanero, and Jalepeno and Chilis.

I am encouraging all to support local farms as we partner with others to supplement fresh local, and nutritious microgreens and others produce, meats and eggs.

I have a passion for helping and supporting local businesses. MicroBliss partners with other local businesses. See our list on our home page. We can add your products to our online store.

We would love to partner with more local companies. Please contact myself at info@microbliss.co.

Why leave a career to grow microgreens?

After a 23 year career as a project manager and IT professional worldwide, I am following my passion as a food grower, health advocate and entrepreneur to grow and distribute locally and stay home with my family.

In 2020 with the recognition of store shelves emptying, I realized it was time to grow fresh and local produce that is more nutrient dense and local, therefore eliminating possible food chain suppliers not delivering to stores.

Do what you love and would do for FREE, and you will never work a day in your life.

We will support and encourage local businesses and growers.
